Job summary

Pertemps Stoke on Trent is seeking a Logistics Operations Administrator to support the Group Logistics function and purchasing activities. The role involves coordinating bookings, monitoring deliveries, and resolving issues to ensure high service levels.

The successful candidate will join a busy Operations team in a well-established business offering development opportunities and a supportive work environment. Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, full-time, permanent.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administration within logistics, transport, purchasing, or supply chain.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
  • Strong customer service skills with an internal and external customer focus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate courier, pallet network, haulage, and specialist transport bookings.
  • Monitor deliveries, obtain PODs, and follow up on outstanding shipments.
  • Investigate delivery issues, damages, shortages, and service failures.
  • Maintain transport records, logistics documentation, and carrier information.
  • Support KPI reporting, route planning, and vehicle compliance administration.
  • Assist with stock valuation, inventory analysis, and stock counts.
  • Support SRM activities and product traceability reporting.

Logistics Operations Administrator

Up to GBP25,613 per annum

Full Time Permanent

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Stoke-on-Trent, is looking to recruit an ambitious Logistics Operations Administrator to join their Operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating multiple tasks, solving problems, and working collaboratively across departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.

The Role

As a Logistics Operations Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting the Group Logistics function, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and providing vital administrative support across both logistics and purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate courier, pallet network, haulage, and specialist transport bookings.
  • Monitor deliveries, obtain Proof of Delivery (PODs), and follow up on outstanding shipments.
  • Investigate delivery issues, damages, shortages, and service failures.
  • Manage logistics non-conformances and carrier claims.
  • Liaise with branches, customers, carriers, and logistics partners to resolve queries efficiently.
  • Maintain transport records, logistics documentation, and carrier information.
  • Support KPI reporting, route planning, and vehicle compliance administration.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and logistics projects.
Purchasing Support
  • Produce purchase requirement and stock replenishment reports.
  • Monitor purchase orders and chase outstanding supplier deliveries.
  • Utilise CRM data to identify future stock requirements linked to major projects.
  • Support supplier performance monitoring and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Assist with stock valuation, inventory analysis, and stock counts.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report on slow-moving and obsolete stock.
  • Maintain accurate cost prices and purchasing information within company systems.
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities and product traceability reporting.
