Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Logistics Manager to join our team in Cambridge.

We are working on a major project to build a modern waste water treatment plant at Honey Hill, north of the A14 between Horningsea and Fen Ditton. This new plant will replace the current one in northeast Cambridge.

As a Logistics Manager, you will contribute to projects that impact our environment and communities.

The role of a Logistics Manager includes:

• Ensuring excellence and consistency in logistics execution and management.
• Managing and coordinating vehicle movements and deliveries.
• Reviewing and updating traffic management plans to reflect project schedules.
• Collaborating with the community liaison manager to manage stakeholder expectations regarding construction traffic and logistics.
• Ensuring all supply chain activities align with traffic management plans, delivery logistics, and vehicle specifications.
• Managing on-site security liaising.
• Maintaining compliance with logistics software used for project delivery.

What you'll need:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Management experience in construction, engineering, or logistics sectors.
• Experience managing Construction Traffic Management Plans or similar documents.
• Knowledge of site establishment, operation, and maintenance.
• Understanding of safe operational practices for vehicles, equipment, and loading/unloading methods.
• Experience in materials scheduling and organizing site deliveries.
• Liaison experience with stakeholders including local authorities and emergency services.
• Knowledge of the Code of Construction Practice, CLOCS, FORS, and Safety at Street Works COP.
• Ability to work under pressure in complex operational and political environments, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills.
