Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting a Logistics Improvement Lead for a leading international manufacturer in Stoke-on-Trent. The role blends site leadership with project delivery to drive warehousing, distribution and supply chain improvements.

You’ll lead improvement initiatives, develop standard processes and embed change, while working with experienced leaders in a high-potential environment that offers development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Several years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Experience leading projects or improvement initiatives; some supervision exposure.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SAP EWM experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead logistics and process improvement projects from planning through to implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels and operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and process mapping techniques.
  • Monitor KPIs and analyse operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support ISO and BSI audit activities and maintain compliance standards.
  • Develop process documentation and promote best practice across the site.
  • Work closely with colleagues to gain engagement and embed change.

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a leading international manufacturer for a Logistics Improvement Lead to join their Stoke-on-Trent operation. This position is ideal for a logistics or supply chain professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Rather than seeking someone with an established senior management background, our client is looking for a high-potential individual with the ambition, drive and capability to grow within the business over time. You'll join a small, close-knit operation where your ideas will have a visible impact. Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll gain exposure to key operational activities while leading improvement projects that enhance efficiency, compliance and performance across the site.

As a Logistics Improvement Lead, you'll play a key role in driving operational improvements across warehousing, distribution and supply chain activities.

  • Leading logistics and process improvement projects from planning through to implementation

To be successful in this Logistics Improvement Lead role, you'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
  • Several years' experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain operations
  • Experience leading projects, improvement initiatives or operational change activitiesSome supervisory, team coordination or people leadership exposure
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
  • Good analytical skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel
  • SAP EWM experience would be advantageous but is not essential

This role could suit candidates currently working as a Logistics Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator, Supply Chain Coordinator, Continuous Improvement Analyst or Junior Project Manager looking for a broader challenge and clear development opportunities.
