Fresh People in Stevenage is recruiting an experienced Logistics Front Line Manager to lead the day-to-day transport operation on a continental shift pattern. You will oversee Drivers and Transport & Despatch Operatives, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient movement of goods.

The role focuses on driving performance, KPI achievement and adherence to Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, and transport legislation, with CPC qualification highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Transport experience is essential.
• Transport Manager CPC qualification highly desirable.
• Experience managing Drivers within a busy transport operation.
• Good working knowledge of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive compliance.
• Experience managing transport and despatch KPIs.
• Strong understanding of transport Health & Safety and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day transport operation across your shift.
• Manage, motivate and develop Drivers and Transport & Despatch Operatives/Coordinators.
• Ensure full compliance with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.
• Manage driver performance and debriefs.
• Ensure transport and despatch KPIs are achieved.
• Maintain high transport Health & Safety and legal compliance.
• Support vehicle, driver and labour utilisation.
• Use transport scheduling systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Respond to transport, delivery and service issues.
• Set performance expectations and hold the team to KPIs.
• Recruit, train and develop Drivers, Coordinators and Operatives.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and operational performance.
• Work with other teams for end-to-end logistics.
