Job summary

GTG is recruiting an experienced Logistics Development Coach to oversee the learner journey from induction to end-point assessment, ensuring training is delivered to a high standard and aligned with individual learning plans. The role involves classroom and one-to-one coaching in the apprentice’s workplace.

This customer-facing position suits someone passionate about developing others, with strong communication and administrative skills to share knowledge in the logistics sector.

Qualifications

  • LGV licences C and C+E are essential.
  • Minimum five years’ LGV driving experience.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Maths and English at Functional Skills Level 1 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Act as main point of contact for learners, mentors and employers.
  • Deliver quality coaching, support and IAG to meet needs.
  • Ensure workplace supervisors and mentors understand assessment processes.
  • Identify and plan to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Conduct milestone reviews to track learner progress.
  • Access and analyse data to assess performance against targets.
  • Capture the impact of training in the learner’s log.

Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm

Home based with travel when required

About The Role

As a Logistics Development Coach, you will be responsible for the management of the learner's journey from induction to end-point assessment, making sure that all training is completed to a high level and in line with individual learning plans. This will include classroom and one-to-one coaching in the apprentice's workplace.

This customer-facing role will be a great fit for someone with a passion for developing others. If you have outstanding communication and administrative skills with a desire to share your knowledge and experience within the logistics sector, this is the role for you.

Day-to-day duties
  • To act as the main point of contact for learners, mentors and employers throughout the programme of learning.
  • To deliver quality coaching, support and IAG to meet employer and learner needs. This includes coaching mentors to deliver appropriate training to the apprentice.
  • To ensure relevant workplace supervisors and mentors are familiar with the assessment/monitoring/off-the-job process and elevate issues where relevant.
  • Establish and review barriers to learning and appropriately plan to overcome these, ensuring relevant delivery is adapted to meet learner needs.
  • To conduct highly effective learner milestone reviews which accurately captures the progress of learners against the skills, knowledge and behaviours relevant to the standard.
  • To access and analyse data available to determine performance against independent learning targets, online learning modules, attendance data etc.
  • Ensure the impact of all training received is captured in the learners’ off-the-job log.
Essential Skills
  • LGV category C and C+E licences
  • Minimum of five years’ LGV driving experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maths and English at equivalent of Functional Skills Level 1 or above
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Smart Assessor
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Assessor qualification
