You will operate as part of the Supply Chain Team with responsibility for the effective and efficient flow of materials into and out of the company, supporting on-time delivery of projects.
What does a typical day look like?
- Be the focal point and expertise within the business unit for all logistics requirements.
- Create packing lists, commercial invoices, and collection manifests for shipments.
- Communicate effectively on freight logistics movements with internal and external customers and freight providers.
- Review export and import customs entries for accuracy and compliance, liaising with freight providers and customs for amendments if required.
- Ensure all necessary purchase requisitions are completed and purchase orders issued to freight logistics providers in a timely manner.
- Input and liaise with project teams to ensure all logistics requirements and potential issues are highlighted and considered early.
- Support the wider Supply Chain Team as required.
- Ensure quality procedures and working practices are adhered to and suggest improvements.
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
- Previous experience in a similar role with international freight
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Knowledge of UK import and export customs regulations
- Experience dealing with air, sea, and road freight
- Experience handling and producing transit documentation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach
- High attention to detail while working at pace
- Excellent prioritisation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
