Job summary

Eventor is seeking a Logistics Controller to manage rosters, plan routes, and deploy resources efficiently while ensuring compliance with WTD and EU Driver Hours. The role requires hands-on coordination of ESL assets and close liaison with customers and on-site teams.

You will monitor daily operations, update records, and support when needed on driver movements. A strong service mindset and experience with GTS and Microlise are important.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) and EU Drivers Hours.
• Experience with GTS and Microlise applications.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain driver/core staff rosters to ensure 24/7 resource coverage.
• Allocate ESL transport assets to convoys as required for deployments.
• Plan routes, alternate routes, site locations and contingency plans.
• Coordinate between convoy commander and TLMP liaison during shifts.
• Ensure clear daily communication and handover documentation between shifts.
• Assist with driver debriefs and customer-specific movements as needed.
• Respond to customer requests for movement or enquiries and escalate as required.

Life in this role

As part of our, Eventor division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Logistics Controller.

Salary: £30,000-31,075 per annum, depending on experience

Shift: 4 On 4 Off 12hr shift, rotating between Days and Nights, 06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00

As a Logistics Controller within Eventor, you will be responsible for providing a plan that deploys allocated resources in the most effective way. You will ensure that the plan meets all legal obligations regarding Working Time Directive (WTD) and EU Drivers Legislation.

Key Duties of a Logistics Controller

• Maintaining driver/core staff rosters to ensure resource capability over a 24/7 period including reactive and emergency response.
• Ensuring the numbers within the emergency response driving team are consistently maintained.
• Implement and deploy the Emergency Plan ensuring compliance with Company Procedure.
• Responsible for the allocation of ESL transport assets to individual convoys as required for all deployments.
• Planning of routes and alternative routes, site locations and establishment and assisting with contingency planning.
• Act as a liaison between convoy commander(s) and TLMP Liaison Officer (Customer appointed on shift)
• Ensuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driver(s) during Adhoc Move Requests form the customer to supplement the use of Microlise to give updates.
• Ensuring there is clear daily communication between shifts, utilising the shift handover document and passing on critical information/concerns to Team Leader and Contract Manager.
• Occasionally assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter for Customer specific movements only.
• Respond to customer requests for movement or other enquiries, escalating as required.
  • Calculating Transport Costs & submitting them for approval
  • Requesting drivers & tractor units as required
  • Advising Forecast Team
• Administrative tasks, including weekly hours, vehicle mileage, production of KPI's
  • Liaise with Customer Services on drivers' behalf
  • Assist with Tyre call outs and breakdowns
  • Update GTS accordingly as required.
• Assist with tracking Formula 1 Trucks in season as required (secondary to Customer specific work).
• To comply with health, Safety, Environment rules to ensure the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors.
• To report any breaches of Health and Safety to your Line Manager immediately.
• To report any accidents, incident or close- call in line with Company procedure and assist in any investigations which may be required.
