We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences, and backgrounds help us learn and serve our communities better.

If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our Bioresources Logistics and Planning team has an opportunity for you to join as our new Logistics Controller.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of tanker movements delivering Wastewater Recycling’s sludge to Bioresources reception centres—generating cake, energy, and gas. Bioresources Logistics manages a fleet of over 40 tankers and oversees the planned volume of sludge entering our 26 reception centres.

This role plays a fundamental part in our Waste ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing a central contact point for Tanker Drivers, Wastewater Recycling, Contractors, and other stakeholders, facilitating the planning and scheduling of sludge movements.
  2. Scheduling tanker movements to meet compliance with the base plan and balancing vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs to ensure maximum tanker utilization and high customer service levels.
  3. Managing tanker schedules proactively and reactively through close liaison with relevant stakeholders to maximize resource efficiency while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  4. Developing effective relationships with WWR managers to ensure high levels of customer service and participating in review and improvement meetings (cell meetings).
  5. Investigating efficiency opportunities and highlighting areas for improvement with stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrating role model behaviors and contributing to a safe working environment for all.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’re seeking a Logistics Controller comfortable with monitoring compliance with financial and performance targets and reporting as needed.

Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of operational performance metrics and managing budgets. Strong IT and communication skills are essential to manage a range of stakeholders at all levels.

A Full UK Driving License is required as the role involves travel.

The right character, positivity, and caring attitude are just as important as skills and experience. We welcome people from all backgrounds, celebrate individuality, and value diversity as it helps us serve our communities better. We want people who show up, get involved, and are ready to make a difference because they care.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Working here isn’t just a job; it’s a career. We offer benefits that recognize great work, award-winning training, and opportunities to make a positive impact on the environment and communities.

Some perks include:

  • 25 days holiday plus extra days for bank holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 5 days per year.
  • Weekend work (usually one in seven) with additional payment and standby pay.
  • Leading pension scheme with doubled contributions (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%).
  • Sharesave scheme to buy Severn Trent shares at a discount.
  • Dedicated training through our ‘Academy’.
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers.
