Polytec Personnel Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a meticulous Logistics Coordinator to manage domestic and international shipments of spare parts and machinery, ensuring cost-effective, timely deliveries and compliance with customs and shipping regulations.

You will coordinate freight, prepare documentation, liaise with freight forwarders and internal teams, monitor progress and identify improvements to logistics processes.

Formación

• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding or international shipping.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation, customs procedures and Incoterms.
• Experience coordinating road, air and sea freight.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel and Word.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate international shipments by road, air and sea.
• Arrange freight bookings, obtain quotations and manage transport costs.
• Prepare and check import/export documentation and customs clearances.
• Coordinate picking, packing and dispatch with accurate inventory records and on-time deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, Incoterms and export requirements.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to relevant departments.
• Maintain logistics procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

We are seeking an organised and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage domestic and international shipments of spare parts and machinery, ensuring deliveries are cost-effective, timely and compliant with customs and international shipping regulations. The role involves coordinating freight, preparing shipping documentation, liaising with external logistics partners and identifying opportunities to improve logistics processes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate international shipments of spare parts and machinery by road, air and sea
• Arrange freight bookings, obtain quotations and manage transport costs
• Prepare and check import/export documentation and customs clearances
• Coordinate picking, packing and dispatch, ensuring accurate inventory records and on-time deliveries
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, Incoterms, tariff codes and export requirements
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, suppliers and internal teams
• Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to relevant departments
• Maintain logistics procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency

Requirements:

• Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding or international shipping
• Knowledge of import/export documentation, customs procedures and Incoterms
• Experience coordinating road, air and sea freight
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience shipping machinery or dangerous goods would be advantageous
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
