This is a senior management opportunity for someone who can combine strong leadership with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, Lean principles and operational excellence.

The role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading warehouse, goods‑in, stores, inventory and logistics operations.

  • Managing carrier relationships, shipment planning and logistics costs.
  • Driving Lean initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise material flow.

  • Working closely with Production, Planning, Quality and Purchasing to resolve issues and prevent delays.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality and operational standards.
  • Planning resources and capacity to meet business demands.
About you

You’ll have proven experience managing warehouse, inventory or logistics operations, ideally within a manufacturing environment, alongside a strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement.

You’ll also bring:

  • Proven people‑management and leadership experience.
  • Experience implementing Lean methodologies and driving measurable improvements.
  • Knowledge of techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis and waste reduction.
  • Strong understanding of stock control, inventory accuracy and warehouse processes.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP or warehouse management systems.
  • A track record of improving processes, productivity and operational performance.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage priorities, resources and performance.
  • A proactive and structured approach to safety, quality and compliance.

Experience in carrier management, freight planning, traceability and operational performance improvement would be advantageous.

Salary and benefits
  • £43,000–£53,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Profit share and operational bonus scheme.
  • 25 days’ annual holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Employer pension contribution scheme.
  • Progression and development opportunities.
  • Yearly appraisal programme.
