Connect2Kent is recruiting a Locum Social Worker to join Kent County Council’s UASC Social Work Team, supporting newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children as they enter the UK through Dover and transition into care.

This unique role places you as first contact for vulnerable youths, with supervision, development, and a supportive team to guide you through assessments, planning and intervention aligned to SCCF standards.

Qualifikationen

• SWE registration with Social Work England (SWE)
• Experience or interest in UASC, CiC, assessment or safeguarding
• Strong communication and analytical abilities
• Ability to work sensitively with young people from diverse backgrounds
• Thrives in a fast-paced, supportive environment

Aufgaben

• Complete initial assessments at Dover for newly arrived UASC
• Manage a caseload of newly arrived UASC with assessments, reviews, reports and court work
• Collaborate with statutory, voluntary and private sector partners
• Maintain accurate, timely case records using agreed systems
• Apply relevant legislation and SCCF policies to Looked After Children/CIN/Child Protection
• Prepare Merton-compliant age assessments with supervision
• Prepare reports and represent the service in court
• Engage in training to meet requirements of Social Work England and SCCF
