Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated Children and Young People Support Worker for a 7-month contract in Lydd, Kent. You will provide day-to-day care, support education access, and help young people in the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking (UAS) service to feel safe and valued while preparing for more permanent living arrangements.

Working within Children Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements, you will promote wellbeing, monitor welfare, maintain accurate records, and participate

Qualifications

• GCSE-level education or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Experience working within Ofsted-regulated environments.
• Knowledge of child development, safeguarding and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to children living within the home.
• Support children to settle into the home and understand routines and support available.
• Encourage children to express their views and participate in decisions.
• Support development of independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist children in learning English and accessing education opportunities.
• Attend appointments, activities and meetings, including transporting them in company vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes using the Liberi system.
• Attend and contribute to Child in Care Reviews and other professional meetings.
• Promote equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice.
