Locum Senior Debt Lawyer – SE England – Competitive rate – Hybrid Working once a week in office or at court – Full time

Job Title: Locum Senior Debt Lawyer – Housing & Civil Litigation Team

Location: South East of England

Salary : £55 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract

Working Hours: 36 hours per week

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 1-2 days per week in the office

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Locum Senior Debt Lawyer to join a forward thinking Council’s Housing & Civil Litigation Team. This is a key role where you will be responsible for handling debt-related litigation and supporting the team in managing caseloads in areas such as Adult Social Care. You will also supervise junior legal staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling a Debt and Adult Social Care caseload
• Managing fast and multi-track claims
• Demonstrating extensive knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and familiarity with CIL and s106 debts
• Support junior team members, providing guidance
• Conduct advocacy for short hearings

Requirements:

• Post-qualification experience in debt and civil litigation
• Local Government experience is desirable
