Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Rushden. The role focuses on delivering structured chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics within a well-organised primary care setting.

The nurse will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity, with supportive nursing leadership and a clear daily clinic structure.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out immunisations (if trained) for adults and children.
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
