Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Rayleigh. This role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills who can deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventive health activity, and efficient clinic delivery, with regular or ad-hoc sessions and long-term bookings offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
