Locum Ready is looking for a Practice Nurse to work with a GP practice in Wallasey. The role involves delivering structured chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics within a well-organised primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventive health work and treatment room activity, in a practice with supportive nursing leadership and clear daily clinic structure.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
