Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Wigan. This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with NHS clinical systems (EMIS, SystmOne or Vision).
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
