Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work at a GP practice in Port Talbot. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics within a structured primary care environment.

Responsibilities include wound care, immunisations where trained, smear tests, NHS Health Checks, recalls and clear documentation in the clinical system. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon slots are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation training up-to-date is desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.

• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).

• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.
