Locum Ready is seeking a qualified Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Cambridge. You will deliver chronic disease reviews and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting, contributing to high-quality patient care.

The role offers regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon slots and long-term bookings. Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision and an enhanced DBS are desirable for efficient clinic delivery.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
