Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Part-time - Remote Working – £60 Umbrella – South West

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is working with an established Local Authority in the South West which is looking to appoint an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer to join its team.

This is a part-time, remote working position for an initial duration of 3 months, subject to possible extension thereafter. The ideal candidate will have recent prior experience working within a Local Authority along with a broad understanding of Litigation to handle a varied caseload.

Duties may include:

1. Undertaking all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Litigation including housing possessions, ASB, injunctions, homelessness, and housing disrepair.
2. Liaising and working collaboratively with other legal representatives as well as providing guidance to staff.
3. Preparing and managing a varied caseload related to Housing Management and supporting court case preparation.
4. Providing legal advice and support to clients in litigation matters such as homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (for access to property and anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions, including conducting legal proceedings and representing the Council in court.
5. Offering advice and assistance to clients on education matters, particularly challenges to decisions regarding SEND and EHC Assessments.
6. Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department.

An attractive hourly rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella is offered, depending on experience.
