Job summary

Globe Locums is seeking a Biomedical Scientist (Histology) in Nottingham on a full-time basis. Start date 01/10/2026; contract until 31/03/2027, subject to review. Band 5 with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00–17:15, paid at £20 per hour (£17.39 PAYE).

Applicants should have HCPC registration and NHS hospital or private sector histology experience, with at least 6 months in cellular pathology. Desirable IBMS membership and Biomedical Science degree; DBS/visa, and fully cleared to work.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience in Cellular Pathology or Histopathology.
• Minimum 6 months of NHS hospital or private experience.
• State Registered BMS (HCPC).
• Desirable IBMS membership and Biomedical Science degree.
• Training junior staff can be advantageous.
• DBS/Police Check and passport/visa clearance.

• Contract Length -until31/03/2027 (subject to review)

• Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:15, 37.5 hr/week

Essential

• Laboratory experience in Cellular Pathology or Histopatholog.
• Minimum 6 months of exp in NHS hospital setting or private (preferably NHS exp)
• Able to make judgements regarding a range of facts or situations that require analysis. E.g. selection of appropriate samples, tests or techniques
• Ability to judge complex cellular patterns
• State Registered BMS (HCPC)

Desirable

• Membership of IBMS, Biomedical Science degree
• Departmental specific laboratory / advanced techniques
• Training junior staff

Requirements

• 1 year(s) post graduate experience
• Valid Passport/Visa
• Fully compliant and cleared to work
