Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Locum Health Care Assistant to support a GP practice in Andover. You will work with the clinical team on routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

This role offers flexible ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with morning and afternoon availability in a supportive primary care environment that ensures sessions run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform observations including BP, pulse, temperature and SpO2.
• Support treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
