Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Paignton. You will assist with routine clinical duties, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will be part of an organised primary care environment, helping manage patient flow and contribute to high-quality care delivery. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions are available, with morning and afternoon options.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
