Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Paignton. The role involves routine clinical duties, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity within a proactive primary care team.

Flexible sessions, morning and afternoon slots, and long-term block bookings are available. Strong communication, DBS checked status and basic IT skills are required to help manage patient flow and record accurate data.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
