Job summary

Locum Ready is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work with a GP practice in Doncaster. The role involves supporting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity, ensuring smooth patient flow.

You will perform observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2), assist with room procedures, and help manage records in the clinical system. DBS enhanced clearance is required; prior NHS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
