Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner to provide flexible sessions at a GP practice in Chester Le Street. The role supports a well-structured daily clinical workflow with strong administrative support and a team-focused environment.

You will manage a varied caseload, perform patient assessments, triage, and ensure continuity of care while adhering to safe prescribing and documentation practices within EMIS or SystmOne systems.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP with NHS practice exposure.
• Must be on NHS Performers List.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Familiar with EMIS or SystmOne or similar systems.
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases.
• Providing telephone consultations and triage.
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately.
• Documenting consultations clearly in the clinical system.
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
