Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner to work with a GP practice in Newcastle Under Lyme. The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with full-day or half-day availability and potential long-term arrangements.

You will manage a varied caseload, perform high-quality patient assessments and provide continuity within a supportive primary care environment. Strong admin support and clear clinical workflows are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be GMC-registered GP with current licence.
• Active inclusion on NHS Performers List.
• Recent UK primary care experience.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems.
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Run routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Manage acute presentations and complex cases.
• Provide telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow.
• Review investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately.
• Document consultations clearly using the clinical system.
• Support the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
