Locum Ready is seeking a Locum General Practitioner for a GP practice in Consett. Flexible, well-organised sessions in a supportive primary care environment with a clear daily structure.

You will manage a varied caseload, provide high-quality patient assessments and ensure continuity where required, supported by strong admin workflows and team-based care. This role offers ongoing bookings and potential long-term arrangements.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP with active NHS work status.
• Recent UK primary care experience required.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems.
• Active indemnity and Enhanced DBS are expected.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases.
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow.
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately.
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system.
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
