Position: Consultant Physician - Medicine for the Elderly & General Internal Medicine
Contract: Fixed term from 1st June to 31st October 2025
Hours: Full Time (10 P.A.s)

Borders General Hospital is a modern 284-bed District General Hospital serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.
We seek a consultant physician/geriatrician to join our team. The Department of Medicine for the Elderly (DME) at Borders General Hospital has a team of Consultants covering general and specialist elderly medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for the general care of elderly patients, liaising with GPs and primary care teams, and leading in the development of specialist services aligned with their interests and service needs. They will also contribute to integrated care initiatives for the Scottish Borders.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration and be on the Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine, or within six months of CCT or equivalent at interview.
