Job summary

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Locum Consultant Paediatrician to work at the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton, on a full-time basis. The post is a fixed-term 5-month contract, with 10 sessions per week and on-call commitments across CYPED, SCBU and clinics in Hartlepool, Stockton, or Peterlee.

The appointee will join a consultant group covering general paediatrics and level one neonates, with a rotating weekend schedule and potential cross-site duties.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration
• MRCPCH or equivalent
• Evidence of UK Specialist Register or within 6 months of specialist registration date
• APLS or EPLS provider
• A higher qualification
• Management course for clinicians
• Relevant CCT or equivalent
• General paediatric experience in both secondary and tertiary care
• Experience of supervising junior medical staff
• Experience in managing paediatric epilepsy or another special interest that will complement the needs of the department
• 6/12 Experience in PICU during training
• Experience in managing paediatric patients in MDT setting

Responsibilities

• Join a full time NHS Consultant Group.
• Cover general paediatrics and level one neonates.
• Work across Hartlepool, Stockton, or Peterlee bases.
• Provide on-call for the hybrid rota, including weekends.
• Resident cover for weekday evenings 1700-2200 and weekends 0900-2200.
• Support Outpatient clinics across the service.
