Job summary

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is advertising a Locum Consultant General Paediatrician on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The appointee will join a team of 18 consultants to provide acute and outpatient care for Children and Young People in Manchester and Trafford.

The post involves an average of 10 programmed activities per week, with hot week duties, on-call responsibilities, and time for administration and education.

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent qualification.
• Completion of higher specialist training in paediatric medicine and specialist registration (or within 6 months of CCT).
• MD or PhD or higher degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide general paediatric duties including inpatient care and new admissions.
• Cover hot weeks and weekend on-calls including evenings.
• Participate in resident and non-resident on-call rotas.
• Contribute to administration and educational supervision.
• Time for research and learning activities.
