Job overview

The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery unit is expanding to meet the needs of the population of East Kent. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Head & Neck Surgeon to join a team of 7 Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. The Trust is going through a period of redevelopment, having attracted national investment to deliver a critical care hub for Kent and Medway. A new 24-bed Intensive Care Unit has been built at the William Harvey Hospital, to include bespoke training facilities, including dedicated space for in-situ simulation training. The William Harvey site is also the Trauma centre for East Kent. Robotic Head & Neck surgery is offered through the Kent and Canterbury site which is also the vascular centre for Kent & Medway.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality Maxillo Facial Surgical patient services, including elective and emergency, outpatient, day-case and inpatient management. The Consultant will be responsible for prioritising patient lists for outpatient appointments and admissions within the nationally defined targets.
