Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Neonatologist for a 10 PA locum post based at Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital. The appointment runs from December 2026 for six months, with duties including consultant-led clinical care across two regional neonatal units and on-call responsibilities (1 in 6 weekends) with night coverage where required.

Applicants should hold Paediatrics accreditation with a Neonatal subspecialty, be on the Specialist Register or nearing

Qualifications

• Accreditation in Paediatrics with subspecialty neonates (Royal College of Paediatrics or equivalent).
• On the UK Specialist Register or within six months of admission to the Register for trainees in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led clinical duties at LGI and St James's Hospital.
• Participate in on-call rota (1:6 weekends) with night cover as required.
• Supervise neonates across NICU, Postnatal and Transitional Care wards.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior doctors.
