Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a Locum Consultant in Cellular Pathology (10 PAs) for a one-year fixed-term post based at Hemel Hempstead. You will cover a broad subspecialty range with cytology, mortuary and MDT opportunities, working within a busy team.

The role requires specialist GMC registration (or within six months), FRCPath or equivalent, and a collaborative, flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Full and specialist GMC registration or eligibility within six months.
• CESR/CCT in histopathology.
• UK-trained candidates must hold CCT or be within six months of award by interview.
• Non-UK trained must show equivalence to UK CCT.
• FRCPath or equivalent qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality histopathology and diagnostic cytology reporting.
• Participate in subspecialty cancer diagnostics and MDT input.
• Contribute to autopsy and andrology services where appropriate.
• Lead workload management, governance, teaching and service development.
