Job summary

Locum Ready in Oldham is seeking an autonomous Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join a GP practice on a flexible, sessional basis. You will assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations with support from a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers morning and afternoon clinics, potential long-term block bookings, and a structured workflow designed for efficient clinical sessions.

Qualifications

• ANP qualification (Level 7) or equivalent.
• V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.
• Recent experience in primary or urgent care settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and safely.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Complete long-term condition reviews as needed.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Order and interpret investigations.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work for a GP practice in Oldham. This role is ideal for an autonomous clinician seeking flexible sessional work within a well-organised primary care environment, with full support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes. The practice offers a structured workflow, clear expectations and a supportive clinical setup to make each session efficient and manageable.

Key Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and acute assessment clinics
• Completing long-term condition reviews where required
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs

Requirements

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• V300 Independent Prescribing
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk-in settings
• Ability to work autonomously and safely
• Familiarity with common primary care systems (EMIS / SystmOne / Vision)
