Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum ACP to work for a GP practice in Newport. This role offers structured, well-supported clinical sessions suited to an autonomous Advanced Clinical Practitioner who thrives in a primary care setting with clear workflows and steady patient demand.

You will work alongside GPs, Nurses and wider clinical staff to provide assessments, make safe clinical decisions, and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes, including urgent care, routine appointments and clinical

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner training at Level 7 or equivalent.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) desirable.
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or emergency settings.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in clinic.
• Enhanced DBS and up-to-date clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Managing same-day and routine ACP appointments.
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of presentations.
• Supporting on-the-day demand through telephone triage.
• Prescribing independently where qualified.
• Actioning results, referrals and follow-up tasks.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant patient records.
