Job summary

Locum Ready in Grays is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join a GP practice. You will work alongside GPs and clinical staff to support urgent care, routine appointments and clinical triage.

The role offers structured, well-supported sessions with clear workflows and steady patient demand, allowing autonomous decision-making and independent prescribing where qualified.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner training at Level 7.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) desirable.
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or emergency settings.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and patient communication skills; ability to work autonomously in clinic.
• Enhanced DBS and up-to-date clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Managing same-day and routine ACP appointments.
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of presentations.
• Supporting on-the-day demand through telephone triage.
• Prescribing independently where qualified.
• Actioning results, referrals and follow-up tasks.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant patient records.
