Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Abingdon. The post is suited to an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds capable of autonomous clinical assessments and safe decision-making within a structured primary care setting.

You will lead own clinics within a multidisciplinary team, supporting urgent and routine patient demand with clear pathways and solid administrative support for seamless session delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/ postgraduate) required.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in primary/urgent care settings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.
