Job summary

DB Cargo UK is recruiting a Locomotive Engineer in the Dollands Moor area to join our engineering team. You will support the safe, efficient maintenance and operation of our locomotives, tackling fault diagnosis and routine overhaul tasks as part of a dedicated depot crew.

We require hands-on engineering experience, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and a valid manual driving license, with the ability to commute within an hour.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a valid manual driving license.
• Live within a 1-hour commute.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Hands-on engineering experience which must be displayed in their application.
• Experience in a similar rail role would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain locomotives and support safe maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Carry out work in accordance with VMlOI and procedures.
• Assist with breakdowns and incidents as required.
• Report defective items and order materials when needed.
