Job summary

Veolia Group seeks an Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) Lead to develop and deliver community engagement and service improvement projects in Haringey. You will drive behaviour change, manage social value commitments, and ensure timely delivery of objectives while coordinating with client officers and contract managers.

You will oversee communications support, share best practice within a national ECO team, and collaborate with Veolia colleagues to deliver impactful, measurable

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with our key client (Haringey Council) and Veolia colleagues across contracts, quickly responding to queries and providing solutions to maintain a high standard of service.
  • Lead on ECO delivery, manage and report on the social value function of the contract and lead on the design and delivery of specific projects to achieve contractual commitments for Veolia Haringey.
  • Deliver a programme of strategic social value initiatives across local employment, community and staff engagement, and manage the funding programmes for local communities.
  • Support recruitment into the operational team by fostering relationships with external partners, delivering webinars and workshops to offer career advice.
  • Dedicated school and college visits to deliver assemblies.
  • Identify good news stories and feed them to the regional external engagement team, as well as working closely with this team to showcase our expertise in behaviour change and social value delivery across digital channels and press.
  • Work closely with the senior ECO team to develop and deliver internal communications campaigns.
  • Work within a wider ECO team for North London and the home counties with occasional travel to other contracts for team development and supportive working.

What you'll be doing:

As an Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) Lead you will develop and deliver community engagement and service improvement projects across Haringey, changing resident behaviours to reduce waste and increase recycling, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, demonstrate measurable results and meet agreed timelines. Effectively manage the ECO and social value commitments at contract level and ensure strategic annual and project plans are delivered to meet objectives. To provide general communications support for the contract as required and be in day to day contact with Client Officers and Contract Managers. The Local ECO Lead will be supported by an Area ECO Manager, sharing best practice and expertise with colleagues across a fantastic, award winning national ECO team.

You will:

What we’re looking for:
Essential:
  • Project development and management.

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Experience of building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • A passion for sustainability and the environment.
Desirable:
  • Recycling and waste industry knowledge.
  • Understanding or experience of working with local authorities.
  • Understanding of the social value sphere
  • Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats.
  • Advanced understanding of data management and analysis.
  • Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications.
