Job summary

Midland Heart Ltd is seeking a Local Campaigns Officer to ensure tenants’ voices are heard by local decision-makers. You will link tenants with colleagues, councillors and MPs, turning issues into local policy asks and driving campaigns that matter in your region.

You will lead communications projects, build partnerships with local partners, and support the External Affairs team with events and advocacy at local and national levels.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering communications projects in a large organisation.
• Ability to advise and influence peers and senior stakeholders.
• Degree or equivalent in communications, marketing or digital.

Responsibilities

• Capturing, recording and monitoring the issues affecting our tenants and services in our neighbourhoods.
• Turning issues into local policy asks and sharing them with councillors, MPs, community groups and council officers.
• Spotting when an issue affects more than one person and developing local campaigns for change.
• Working with the Public Policy Lead to ensure national influencing reflects tenants' day-to-day experiences.
• Setting up meetings between senior leaders and key stakeholders and supporting External Affairs events.
• Knowledge of local/regional politics and local government.
• Experience delivering effective communications projects for a large organisation.
• Experience advising and influencing peers and senior stakeholders.
• A degree or equivalent level of expertise in communications, marketing or digital.
