Essex Cares Limited is seeking an experienced Local Business Manager to support delivery of high-quality Reablement services in the West Essex area, based in Harlow. You will report to the Registered Manager and lead frontline staff, ensuring quality, safety, and person-centred care while driving business objectives.

You will manage rota planning, performance reviews, and liaison with commissioners and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in a management or supervisory role within health or social care.
• Experience leading frontline teams and promoting a person-centred culture.
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in care services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
• Experience with rota planning and workforce management.
• Proficient IT skills and experience with care management systems.

Job description

Contract: Permanent Full-Time, 37 hours per week including on call duties on a rota basis.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Local Business Manager to support the effective delivery of high-quality Reablement care services within our West Essex Team located in Harlow. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the service, ensuring business objectives, quality standards, and customer outcomes are achieved.

You will provide direct management and support to frontline care staff, promoting a positive culture of accountability, professionalism, and person-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader with strong operational, people management, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the operational management of the service.
• Line manage and supervise frontline care staff, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure safe staffing levels through effective workforce planning and rota management.
• Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and retention of care staff.
• Monitor service performance against key business and quality objectives.
• Support compliance with CQC regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, return-to-work meetings, and performance reviews.
• Investigate incidents, complaints, and concerns, implementing lessons learned and improvement actions.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, commissioners, and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to budget management, resource utilisation, and business growth opportunities.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and timely completion of audits and management reports.

About You

We are seeking an individual who has:

• Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within health or social care.
• Experience of leading and motivating frontline teams.
• Strong knowledge of care service operations and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience of rota planning and workforce management.
• Good IT skills and experience using care management systems.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
