Job summary

Holcim in Shipham Gorge, Cheddar, Somerset, is seeking a Mobile Plant Operative (Loading Shovel) for a temporary ~5 week role. You will operate loading shovels, load vehicles, manage stockpiles, and uphold safety standards on site.

The role requires 2+ years in Construction or Heavy Industry, a valid loading shovel card (CPCS/NPORS) and a strong safety mindset. Start ASAP with 40-hour shifts on a 3-shift rota.

Qualifications

• B2 Licence or loading shovel CPCS/NPORS card.
• 2+ years experience in Construction or Heavy Industry.
• Ability to adhere to the shift pattern.
• Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
• CSCS card would be an advantage.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheeled loading shovels safely across quarries.
• Load HGV lorries, articulated trucks and hoppers with bulk materials.
• Manage stockpiles and maintain material stockpiles.
• Promote site health and safety at all times.
• Ensure site housekeeping is maintained to highest standard.
