Job summary

XPO Logistics in Dordon is seeking a Loading Bay Team Leader for night shifts (17:00–01:30). This hands-on leadership role guides a loading bay crew, ensures safety and operational discipline, and coordinates with the traffic office.

You’ll drive productivity, handle shift cover, and promote safe handling of items; supervisory experience in warehouses and familiarity with MHE are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a warehouse/industrial setting with commercial vehicles and loading.
• Minimum 1 year working in MHE centric environments.
• Some supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to person for the Loading Bay team leader for holidays, uniform, shift changes/cover.
• Drive productivity by leading an approach that aligns with demand for trailers loaded.
• This is a hands-on role to cover gaps in shift cover.
• Lead communications up and down stream for this remit.
• Complete safety observations on warehouse activities and audits.
• Liaise with traffic office on anomalies and poor practice.
• Liaise with the team constructively as required.
• Manage SSOW compliance and uphold health and safety standards.
• Reduce damages by promoting safe handling of items.

Are you a Loading Bay Operative, looking to join one of the UK's leading Logistics companies? Are you physically fit and looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a Loading Bay Team Leader to join our team working in Dordon.

You will be working Monday to Friday 17:00 - 01:30 night shift with a basic hours salary of £26,540 per year, average pay of £33508.80 including allowances and unsocial hours. Overtimes paid at an exchange rate.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• To be the ‘go-to’ person for the Loading Bay team Leader, for holidays, uniform, shift changes/cover, etc.
• Drive productivity and effectiveness by leading an approach that is consistent with demand (i.e. trailers loaded).
• This is a hands-on role, designed to ensure that gaps in cover can be supported.
• Lead communications up and down stream for this remit.
• Complete the requisite number of safety observations on warehouse activities, including (but not limited to) housekeeping inspections, Lopa audits and B-safes.
• Liaise with the traffic office on observed anomalies and/or poor practice.
• Liaise appropriately and constructively with the team as required.
• Managing processes to ensure the SSOW are being followed.
• Upholding health and safety standards
• Reducing damages by promoting good handling of items.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Minimum of 1 year in a warehouse/industrial setting working with commercial vehicles, movements and vehicle loading.
• Minimum 1 year working in MHE centric environments.
• Some supervisory/leadership experience
• Minimum of 3 years in industrial settings such as warehouses, production units is desirable
