Job summary

Dorset Council is recruiting Loaders to join its waste and recycling teams. You’ll work outdoors on a rota basis, covering early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays, with overtime opportunities. No prior experience is required, and progression to training as an HGV driver is available.

Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recycling from the roadside and ensure it is sent for sorting and recycling or energy recovery.

Job description

We have vacancies for Loaders. No previous experience is required.

The teams that collect our waste and recycling from the side of the road, to send it on its way to be sorted and recycled into new products or turned into electricity, are the first line of defence in the battle to protect our local and global environment. If our teams stopped collecting for just 1 week, four thousand tonnes of waste would be left on the streets of our beautiful Dorset.

You will work 37 hours per week on a rota basis, to cover early mornings and some weekends and bank holiday working. Opportunity to work overtime is available.
