A leading global energy business is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel in London to support its LNG desk. This role involves negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts related to LNG, advising on cargo transactions, and managing regulatory considerations. Candidates should have over 10 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years in LNG. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience in law.

Job description

A leading global energy business is building out its LNG desk in London and is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support its growing trading activities. This is a key strategic hire with direct influence on the development of a rapidly expanding LNG platform.

You will lead the negotiation, drafting and review of a wide range of commercial contracts - including LNG MSPAs / SPAs, NDAs, HOAs, MOUs, TCPs, ISDAs, guarantees, novations and service agreements - while advising on spot, mid and long term cargo transactions, chartering, structured deals and financial trading. The role involves managing regulatory considerations, developing new standard contract templates, supporting dispute preparation and resolution, and coordinating closely with US Legal, Compliance and external counsel on cross-border matters.

You will bring 10+ years’ post-qualification experience with at least 5 years in LNG , strong commercial instincts and the confidence to negotiate directly with counterparties.
