Job description

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.

Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.

How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.

As Lloyd's continues to strengthen its global reach, we're looking for a highly organised and engaging individual to help showcase the unique value of the Lloyd's market to audiences around the world.

Working within Lloyd's Academy, you'll lead a range of programmes designed to help brokers, underwriters, coverholders, clients, regulators and international stakeholders better understand how the Lloyd's market operates. Through these programmes, you'll help participants build knowledge, develop valuable market connections and gain the confidence to engage effectively with the market.

What you'll do

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of insurance education and market development programmes, working closely with business leaders, subject matter experts and market practitioners from across the Lloyd's ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering educational programmes that increase understanding of Lloyd's insurance and reinsurance solutions across key stakeholder groups.
  • Developing curriculum and learning experiences focused on insurance products, specialty lines, multinational programmes, distribution models, emerging risks and market innovation.
  • Collaborating with underwriters, brokers and industry experts to create high-quality technical content that reflects current market priorities and customer needs.
  • Ensuring programmes demonstrate the unique value proposition of the Lloyd's market and increase awareness of Lloyd's capabilities globally.
  • Identifying emerging insurance trends, regulatory developments and market challenges to ensure programme content remains relevant and forward-looking.
  • Building strong relationships with market participants to understand capability gaps and develop learning solutions that support market growth and performance.
  • Managing programme delivery from concept through to execution, ensuring a best‑in‑class learning experience for participants.
  • Supporting initiatives that strengthen insurance knowledge, professional development and technical excellence across the Lloyd's market.
  • Measuring programme effectiveness, learner outcomes and market impact, using insights and feedback to continuously enhance content and delivery.
  • Acting as an ambassador for Lloyd's Academy, promoting thought leadership and helping develop the next generation of insurance professionals within the Lloyd's market.
What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong programme leadership skills with a genuine interest in insurance, risk and market development.

You’ll likely have experience in:

  • Insurance, reinsurance, broking or another Lloyd's market‑related environment.
  • Designing, managing or delivering technical learning, professional development or market education programmes.
  • Working with insurance practitioners and subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into engaging learning experiences.
  • Building relationships with senior stakeholders across the insurance value chain.
  • Understanding specialty insurance products, risk transfer solutions and the role of the Lloyd's market in addressing complex and emerging risks.
  • Using market insight, participant feedback and performance data to improve learning outcomes.
  • Managing programmes involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams and competing priorities.
  • Communicating technical insurance concepts clearly to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of the Lloyd's market, its participants and operating model.
Why join us?

Lloyd's Academy plays a critical role in developing insurance knowledge, technical expertise and market capability across the global Lloyd's network. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the insurance market, shaping programmes that help market participants better understand Lloyd's products, services and solutions while strengthening professional standards across the industry.

You’ll work closely with leading underwriters, brokers and industry experts, helping to build the skills, connections and market understanding that enable organisations to succeed within the world's leading insurance marketplace.

If you're passionate about insurance and developing industry capability, and want to help facilitate organisations to better understand and access the unique solutions available through Lloyd's, we'd love to hear from you.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.

We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
