Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team based in Liverpool. The role focuses on managing the full credit control function and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt across a varied ledger.

You will communicate confidently with clients, maintain relationships and uphold company credit terms. You will work in a hybrid environment, prioritise a high-volume workload, and collaborate with sales, operations and customer service to resolve queries

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Credit Control role.
• Strong communication skills - telephone, email and letters.
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Team player who can work independently and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Manage a busy ledger, proactively chasing invoices by phone, email and letter within credit terms.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to resolve payment queries and disputes.
• Monitor debtor accounts and reduce overdue balances per policy.
• Allocate cash receipts and reconcile accounts regularly.
• Prepare aged debtor reports and present updates to finance and senior management.
• Liaise with sales, operations and customer service to resolve billing queries.
• Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers and recommend credit limits.
• Support month-end processes and regular reporting.
