Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Band 6 Liver/Hep bil specialist practitioner in our Liver/Hep bili theatre at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The post involves effective teamwork and clear communication between consultants, anaesthetists and the theatre team, with a strong emphasis on teaching and professional development. Paediatric skills development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be an effective team player and communicator.
• Must hold a recognised mentorship qualification and support learner development.
• Experience in paediatric and theatre settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the diverse theatre team and maintain high standards of care.
• Be the key communication link between Consultant Surgeons/anaesthetists and theatre staff.
• Lead and participate in teaching and training activities within the theatre.
• Support the development of theatre practitioners and theatre support staff.
• Ensure timely completion of audits, assessments and reviews.
