Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Liver Clinical Nurse Specialist (Annex 21) in Southport. The post supports gastroenterology/hepatobiliary services across Trust sites and may be offered under Annex 21 AfC terms, subject to experience and suitability.

The role spans outpatient, ward and community settings with autonomous endoscopy, teaching and liaison duties within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent experience
• Current ALS/ILS Certification
• Clinical Examination and Diagnostics
• Masters level qualification relevant to specialty (or working towards)
• Relevant Counselling qualification to specialism

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care.
• Provide expert advice and clinical practice to patients with hepatobiliary disease.
• Provide specialist education and training to others.
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care delivered.
• Develop hepatobiliary clinical services.
